Passionate About Timber!!!!!!!!

Established in 1957 McIntosh Timber Laminates Ltd is New Zealand's leading manufacturer of Glue Laminated Timber (Glulam). Our first laminated timber beams in 1957 involved the production of 50 foot span elliptical arches and we have seen the development of Glulam grow to a strong industry competing successfully on the international market in such places as Australia, the Pacific Islands, Micronesia, Hong Kong, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.

In December 1995 a move to larger premises was called for and design work began on a new 3500 sq m factory to be built in East Tamaki. This was completed in October 1996 and is a show case for glue laminated radiata with a TGV sarked ceiling, featuring five gracefully sweeping reverse curve Glulam beams that span 14m.

The Management of the Company is the responsibility of Directors; Grant McIntosh and Owen Griffiths, who enjoy the loyal support of our factory, sales and office staff of 35, many of whom have been with the Company for more than ten years.

The emphasis at McIntosh is always on maintaining the very best levels of quality in manufacture and in the provision of service.

As license holders under AS/NZS 1491 and 1328 we are also members of SETMA (Structural Engineered Timber Manufacturers) and have an on-going commitment to the production of top quality Glulam products.
Specifiers and Territorial Authorities need to make sure they call for Glulam to come from a reputable licensed plant.
